Although the Melnick Medical Museum is no longer open for tours (see this post), the museum will be represented at the annual Summer Festival of the Arts on Saturday, July 13th and Sunday, July 14th. The festival is held on and around the campus of Youngstown State University in Youngstown, OH.
A selection of interesting artifacts will be on display in a tent near Maag Library. In addition to artifacts, visitors will be able to make their own tapeworm medicine using an authentic recipe from 1881 and a mortar and pestle. The replica Iron Lung will also be available for those who really want to experience “Life in the Lung.”
Stop by the museum’s tent Saturday from 10am to 5pm or Sunday from 1pm to 4pm to have some fun!
